Hey! I’m Rachel!

I was raised in a Christian home by Jesus-loving parents, but at 18 years old, I looked up and found myself in a same-sex relationship. I felt confused and stuck while simultaneously going to Bible college and pastoring youth. I didn’t think that was how God had created me, but believing the lies of the enemy all my life had left me with a massive rejection wound that begged to be filled. Even after leaving that relationship behind, I was riddled by confusion that turned to a pornography and masturbation addiction.

This was my story until 2017, when I was given an opportunity to confess and come to true repentance. I discovered that my church was a safe place to talk about hard things, the people around me were committed to walking with me into freedom, and BEST of all, Jesus was way better than I had known him to be!

When I was 18, in the midst of living in a same-sex relationship, I heard God whisper to me “Rachel, one day I will set you free from this and it will be your ministry.” I couldn’t even fathom it at the time, laughing in God’s face and swearing to never talk about it. But the day Jesus offered me freedom and I gladly took it, I knew I couldn’t leave behind the thousands of others who are like me.

I believe it’s time for the Church to learn how to talk about these hard issues and contend in prayer so we can see a wave of salvation and deliverance come to the LGBTQ community! It’s hard, messy work, but there are more Rachels waiting for us to help them know their true identity in Christ and learn that Jesus is better than we’ll ever be able to know!
